We may not see each other’s faces all the time, especially if we are mostly concentrating on our online freelance jobs, so online reputation is very important to keep.
That is why when a freelancer cries ‘foul’ pertaining to a certain provider, everyone will definitely be interested to know.
Let us take the case of a certain ‘Michelle’ who left a comment in one of our local forums. In one of the articles, she placed a comment which states:
October 17th, 2008
Calling all victimized writers of Essays.ph. UNITE! Let us all spread the word that Essays.ph IS A SCAM! Beware. Be aware. Calling all victimized writers of Essays.ph. UNITE! Let us all spread the word that Essays.ph IS A SCAM! Beware. Be aware.
I cannot believe my eyes. I am surprised that someone just made that plain statement for all local freelancers to see.
What came next was a thread in the Pinoy Money Talk forum concerning the stated comment. A certain Neilencio replied:
Hello
I’ve been working for the admin side of Essays.ph for more than a year now, so my words may carry a little less weight and may be accused of bias, pero it should be telling that none of the Essays.ph naysayers have provided any specific details as to why EPH is a scam.
We have several PMT posters who are freelancers for essays.ph as well. I believe some of them have had problems with EPH in the past but mostly it’s due to conflicts with the company’s policies and not because they have not been paid for their work.
I have worked for Essays.ph and took some projects from them. I never experienced delay in getting paid. With that, I firmly believe that this company is a legitimate site for online freelancers to work for.
Good thing there was someone who tried to clarify things in the forum. But what about those freelancers who only saw the comment at that time? I can just imagine how it will ruin one’s online reputation because of that careless comment made by someone who never gave out much details about what happened to support her claim.
How about you? What will you do if you get a conflict with the provider that you are working for? What are the best things to remember so you won’t get scammed online (although we don’t want this to happen)?

i signed up with essays.ph, although i’ve never tried taking assignments there yet. reasonable people should really do their research more because it’s not always the truth whenever somebody cries “scam”. especially if there’s no evidence presented. these people are just hoping that the “mob mentality” can do some damage on a business.
I wonder if the poster was really scammed or if she is just a forum troll/flamebaiter.
I applaud your effort to speak up for a service that has done good for others. I haven’t been to essays.ph but it would be a real pity to witness a good service go down because of malicious posts
It’s my first time to come across this site. Good thing you’ve always been paid. That scam comment must be isolated.Maybe she violated certain rules, that’s why.
siguro tama si feemepower. disgruntled writers normally do that.
I’ve been freelancing with Essays.ph for only 2 weeks (In 9 days I was transferred to the regular team) and I can really vouch for them. Most probably, that Michelle might have passed an assignment, got points and then got suspended because of violating some rules. I dunno if it’s true that she got scammed, but for me, it’s really a nice writing community which pays on time.
And pano po pala yung method of payments? Pwede kayang sadyain sa office nila sa Buendia?
Kakatakot naman yan. Na try nyo na ba to guys? http://homebasewriters.com
They’re from Cebu. Mukhang okay naman
